brainchild 2017

This is the 2017 edition of Brainchild Magazine. It is produced by the Honors College at Kent State University. Brainchild is a magazine composed of photography, fine art, and literary works submitted by Honors students in the northeast. For this issue I was on the design team responsible for taking this issue from a collection of submissions to a physical book. In this issue one of our main accomplishments was improving the organization from the previous issue. We added a color coding system to the titles of pieces to differentiate from art to literature pieces. These colors correspond with a tab of color that can be viewed from the edge. When flipping through quickly the reader can focus on one type of piece and quickly navigate using these colored squares. The cover image was photographed by our design team and embossed with our logo. The broken glass relates to loose theme within the issue of beauty within brokenness.
